It’s TheIron Bow Way.THE OPPORTUNITY (position overview)Iron Bow Technologies is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join our team of Engineers providing onsite Systems Administrator/Virtualization Storage and Network support for our Federal customer in the DC Metro area, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. You will be one of the team members responsible for ensuring availability of client/server applications, configure new implementations, and support the development of processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment. HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT You bring VMWare and vCenter management experience to provide monitoring, backup, restore, recovery, and tape library maintenance and operations of the virtual server environment across multiple locations. You will provide backup, redundancy, and availability of the virtualized server environment consisting of 200 Windows and Linux servers. You work well in a team environment and enjoy participating in internal Engineering Team and customer meetings and being engaged with senior team members to gain insight and knowledge into our customer’s environment.Participate in the Customer Change Boards and share details to include progress and impediments of assigned tasks.Support approved and assigned configuration/operational change tasks that are tracked and maintained in the ITSM and keep progress details updated in the change task.You work both independently and in a team environment, able to adapt to changing priorities, report on progress, including identifying impediments, while remaining focused on committed timelines. Provides coordinated 24x7 on-call support for time-sensitive needs (1 week per month rotation).Support the quarterly baseline image updates – support maintaining the updated Gold Image using MS MDT.Monitors databases for server/server resource issues, and ensures daily, weekly, monthly checks are completed, and internal operating procedures are followed.Recommends and executes approved modifications to the server environment to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance, and configures/deploys new client hardware/software applicationsSupport planned and approved patch pushes to the Dev and Prod environments.Participates in research of server hardware, software, and protocols in support of the customer’s procurement and development efforts.Provides input for incident responses and root cause analysis for major incidents when needed.Manages enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure.Maintains inter-/intra-site replication between storage components for redundancy and disaster recovery contingencies.Identifies and submits Knowledge Base articles, conduct periodic reviews of exiting articles for accuracy, and support the development/update of technical support documentation.You will ensure work aligns with Iron Bow policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.SKILLS THAT DRIVE SUCCESSYou understand VPC environments (Amazon Linux and MS Windows), Amazon Machine Instances running in EC2 AWS RDS for MySQL and MS-SQL Server Simple Storage Services (S3), Amazon Glacier Storage for long-term archival storage, Identity Authentication Management including Windows AD and ADFS, Google G Suite, VMware tools, Windows OS, Redhat, SQL 2016, SolarWinds, NetApp CloudSync.You’ve worked with multiple OS’s, such as MS, Apple, and Linux.You’ve installed, configured, and maintained all manners of server hardware, including Dell, HP, VMWare ESXi, and vCenter.You’re experienced with virtual storage devices, such as Cohesity and NetBackup, experienced with enterprise backup solutions, tape robots and virtual tape solutions and well as implementing and troubleshooting VMware vSphere 5.x/6.x, or equivalent. You’re experienced with storage and backup technologies (SAN & NAS) and SolarWinds.You have worked with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.You’re able to create/update processes, complex diagrams using Lucidchart, or a comparable tool. You have technical knowledge of and experience with load balancing, clustering, and caching procedures and processes, as well as Network components and topologies.We’d like it if you have knowledge of JAMF Pro features such as Zero Touch Deployments, App Management, Extensive Inventory, Security Controls, and Self-Service App Catalog, added plus if you hold JAMF 200 and/or JAMF 300 certification(s).We’d like it if you have experience with client/server AV software applications, general Knowledge of VoIP and Video over IP, and knowledge of Tenable Security Center, Citrix VDI.Experience with AWS is an added plus.You have 5 years’ relevant experience providing system administration support in a virtualized environment and bring solid Linux and MS Windows2008 Server experience.Prefer that you hold a BS in Computer Science, Information Science, or other relevant discipline; will consider additional years of experience in lieu of a relevant degree.You hold current certifications in any combination of the following, and bring a commitment to gain additional certifications that allow you to keep current with trends:VMware Certification (such as VCP-DCV/DT)MCSE (MCSA or MTA is acceptable)Network+ or A+Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)WHAT SETS YOU APARTYou have experience working as part of a Team of professionals supporting a federal contract along with experience engaging directly with federal customers.You welcome an opportunity to work onsite with the Team and Federal staff and recognize the benefits in onsite support.You understand the value and benefit of SLA targets and can demonstrate your drive to meet these targets.You have an interest in the networking side too, to be able to assist our Network Engineer as the need arises.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSUp to 10% travelWHY YOU’LL LOVE ITYou get to be a creative, problem solver in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while engaging with an experienced team of engineers and working side by side with the Museum’s leadership.You will be a key contributor to Iron Bows’s transformational shift in how we deliver value to both customers and employees.You will have the pleasure of working with passionate professionals in a culture that fosters a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported and empowered to succeed.COMPENSATION AND BENEFIT INFORMATIONThe salary range for this position is $135,000-145,000/yr. This range reflects the anticipated base pay for the position and is not a guarantee of final compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, contract requirements, and business needs.Iron Bow Technologies reserves the right to fill this role at a different level, depending on qualifications and organizational priorities. This range represents only one component of Iron Bow’s total compensation package.
