We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a metal fabrication company in Houston, Texas. This position is well suited for an accounting specialist who values a dependable environment and wants to build a long-term career while contributing to day-to-day financial operations. The role will support core accounting activities, help maintain accurate reporting, and partner with the team to keep processes organized and efficient.

Responsibilities:
• Record daily and monthly journal entries and ensure transactions are posted accurately to the general ledger.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances to support a timely and accurate close process.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and review balance sheet activity to confirm accuracy and completeness.
• Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice review, three-way matching, and payment processing in line with company procedures.
• Support billing and accounts receivable tasks by preparing invoices and helping maintain accurate customer account records.
• Compile accounting schedules, workbooks, and recurring reports to provide clear financial visibility for the business.
• Contribute to full-cycle accounting operations by helping maintain organized documentation and reliable month-end reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

• At least three years of hands-on accounting experience in a business environment.

• Prior experience in manufacturing is required; exposure to metal fabrication is a plus.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.

• Practical knowledge of journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliation.

• Experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.

• Familiarity with ERP or accounting software; experience with relevant accounting systems is preferred.
