Network Engineer

Position Overview Our client is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to join their team. They are upgrading their wireless infrastructure across the hospital to enhance coverage for clinical staff and patients. This person should have experience with Cisco Wireless and ISE, Cisco routing & switching, SDWAN, and more. They will be on-site 5 days per week for the Wireless Project, either at Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham or AAMC in Annapolis. Primary Wireless Experience Cable company cabling and mounting APs at the hospital Cisco APs and wireless controllers across the hospital Use SolarWinds as a monitoring tool Add APs to a controller, label them, and provide troubleshooting support Position Objective Project/Technical leader for network engineering group that works closely with networking staff to ensure compliance with organization goals and objectives, support business continuity and disaster recovery, and manage Cisco networks. Essential Job Duties Lead, design, operate and maintain networks; monitor performance and perform upgrades. Maintain documentation of network configurations, operating procedures, and service records. Respond to users’ requests; provide first and second‑level network support and escalation. Install and configure telecommunications/network devices for business continuity and disaster recovery. Track trouble tickets and project changes in the tracking application. Lead technology planning and provide technical support for special projects. Research and evaluate proposed hardware and software modifications and upgrades. Attend classes, seminars, and conferences to stay current on WAN and LAN technologies. Educational / Experience Requirements Four‑year degree in a related field and 5‑7 years of technical network experience. Minimum of 5 years direct technical network experience in an enterprise‑class network. Required Skills Network engineering, router, firewall, Cisco switches, data center, troubleshooting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Sr Network Engineer Cisco Wireless Network (Data, Voice and RTLS), Cisco ISE, Cisco Network (Switching / Routing / Advanced Protocols), Cisco ACI, Meraki Networks / SDWANs, Virtual Switches (VMware, Acropolis), Data Center, MDF, IDF maintenance, Palo Alto Firewalls. Certifications Technical certifications required: Cisco CCNA. Preferred: Cisco CCNP, Checkpoint CCSA. Position Details Contract to Hire position based out of Annapolis, MD. Fully onsite position. Pay range: $65.00–$72.00 per hour.
