Head Custodian II

This position oversees and maintains school buildings and grounds in a condition of operating excellence to ensure full educational and community use. This staff member performs maintenance and operational tasks, supervises the custodial employees assigned the building, and is responsible for ensuring the custodial operations proceed smoothly and assigned work is completed for all shifts. 1. Responsibility for maintaining cleaning and general appearance of school building, including the following:
2. Mop floors
3. Collect and remove garbage
4. Strip, wax and buff floors during summer
5. Move furniture or athletic equipment and set-up bleachers or risers
6. Set-up for hot lunch and cleanup
7. Snow removal
8. Remove ceiling tiles during summer
9. Clean bathrooms and locker rooms
10. Responsibility for completing preventive maintenance, repairs and performing miscellaneous work orders, including the following:
11. HVAC:
12. General operation and repairs
13. Working knowledge of automation controls
14. Air filter replacements per manufacturers recommendations
15. General preventative maintenance
16. Carpentry:
17. Furniture repair
18. Replacement of ceiling/floor tiles
19. General Carpentry
20. Electrical:
21. Change bulbs using ladders or an aerial lift
22. Change face/outlet plates
23. Change simple ballast
24. Repair electrical cords
25. General preventative maintenance:
26. Repair broken windows
27. Plaster cracks/patching
28. Door closers
29. Locker maintenance
30. Equipment maintenance
31. Routine repairs
32. Painting:
33. Varnishing/refinishing
34. Field marking
35. General painting
36. Summer paint crew
37. Plumbing:
38. Clogged drains
39. Repair leaky faucets
40. Valve repair/replacement
41. Shipping and Receiving:
42. Maintain accurate records
43. Clerical tasks
44. Deliver packages within school
45. Other duties within the scope of the employment position that may be assigned by supervisor.

Salary/Compensation: $22.43 - $24.23 per hour
