About the Program The HCA Nurse Residency Program is a year‑long paid program that supports RN Residents in transitioning from student to registered nurse. It offers advanced clinical training in a specialty area, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, simulations, mentoring from nurse leaders, and a collaborative evidence‑based practice project. Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by the medical provider; document care timely and thoroughly. Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient response, notify provider and intervene appropriately for unintended responses. Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate patient needs to resolve issues proactively. Teach patients, families and caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications and side effects; translate complex terminology. Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with department requirements and nursing standards; advocate for patients, families and caregivers. Qualifications Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the state. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment. Other certifications may be required during employment. No previous experience required.
