We are seeking an experienced Dealer Auditor to support a Dealer Audit organization focused on auditing dealership warranty activities. This role ensures the consistent, accurate, and fair application of warranty policies and procedures across a dealer network. The position involves planning and executing audits, analyzing results, preparing audit communications, and identifying opportunities to improve policies, processes, and system functionality. This role is field-based with significant travel and reports to a Lead Auditor or Audit Manager.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and report on audits related to dealership warranty activities
• Ensure consistent application of warranty policies and procedures across the dealer network
• Prepare and communicate audit-related materials, including notification letters and detailed audit reports
• Maintain and utilize audit tools and systems
• Perform root-cause analysis on audit findings and recommend corrective actions
• Identify opportunities to improve internal and external processes, controls, and system functionality
• Maintain oversight and working knowledge of warranty policies and programs
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support audit outcomes and continuous improvement
• Communicate audit findings clearly and professionally to dealership and internal audiences

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 57+ years of total experience, including:
• Automotive retail experience with in-depth knowledge of dealership processes, especially fixed operations
• Automotive technical experience, including familiarity with diagnostic procedures and technical information systems
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (O365 / online collaboration tools)
• General understanding of the franchised dealership business model
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and detail-oriented skills
• Knowledge of risk management, control objectives, and automated/manual controls
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Flexible and adaptable in a changing business environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior audit experience (financial, compliance, operational, or dealership/franchise)
• Experience with automotive OEM dealership management systems
• Experience working with highly automated or digital processes (e.g., remote audits, claims processing, optical recognition tools)
• Experience researching, implementing, or authoring policies, procedures, or technical requirements
• Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or PMP
