Occupational Therapist Assistant Essential Job Duties The Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for accurately implementing the patient plan of care designed by the occupational therapist or components thereof in a setting appropriate to the patient's disability, age and psychosocial needs. Maintains active and supportive communication with patient/family and members of the health care team, as appropriate, regarding the outcome of evaluation activities, treatment programs, clinical concerns, home care programs and other issues related to the progress and discharge of patient through the therapeutic process. Qualifications One (1) year experience as an occupational therapy assistant in an acute care facility preferred. Completion of A.A. degree from a school or college approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association Current California license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. BLS (AHA) current certification.
