We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach who is passionate about mentoring young athletes and helping them grow in both skill and character.
Position Summary
The Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading and developing the JV Volleyball program while supporting the overall vision of the school's athletic department. The coach will teach volleyball fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership while creating a positive environment that promotes athletic excellence and Christian values. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping student-athletes develop their God-given talents both on and off the court.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct effective volleyball practices focused on skill development, teamwork, conditioning, and game strategy.
- Coach and supervise student-athletes during practices, matches, tournaments, and team events.
- Teach proper volleyball techniques, rules, and competitive strategies.
- Foster an environment of respect, discipline, teamwork, and Christ-like character.
- Encourage academic success and personal growth among student-athletes.
- Collaborate with the Varsity Volleyball Coach to develop and maintain program continuity.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, athletic administration, and school staff.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and athletic department expectations.
- Assist with equipment management, team organization, and match preparation.
- Lead or participate in team devotions and encourage spiritual growth among athletes.
- Maintain a safe and positive atmosphere for all participants.
Qualifications
- Previous volleyball coaching and/or competitive playing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, and game strategy.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop student-athletes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends during the volleyball season.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must support the mission, Statement of Faith, and Christian values of The Christian School at Castle Hills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior coaching experience at the middle school, high school, club, or collegiate level.
- Experience working in a Christian school environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
