No sponsorship is available for this position. Ramboll is seeking experienced candidates to join the Solutions for Industry group in our Charlotte, NC office. In your role, you will have the opportunity to lead and demonstrate your experience on unique and challenging medium and large size industrial projects. As our new senior Mechanical Engineer, you will work across a wide range of mechanical design knowledge areas and have a desired focus on HVAC design of chemical, power, and/or industrial facilities. You will work alongside experienced and entry-level engineers in an environment where sharing knowledge to develop innovative, technically sound designs is considered the key to success. Tasks and Responsibilities Performing design and engineering work in various areas of the mechanical discipline. Most of the work will be related to heating, ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC); however, the candidate should also expect work in industrial piping, plumbing, central utility plants, compressed air systems, chilled water systems, steam systems, and fire protection. Coordinating with other engineering disciplines to produce final construction drawings and details associated with mechanical engineering projects. Developing conceptual designs and cost estimates for early stages of the project life cycle. Assessing and designing building ventilation systems based on requirements for heat removal in industrial spaces and maintaining indoor air quality. Specifying mechanical equipment. Designing plumbing and building utility piping systems. Summarizing engineering results in written reports and/or presentations that are cohesive and of the highest quality. Visiting job sites as required for projects involving upfit of existing systems. A mix of day trips and overnight domestic trips should be expected. Adhering to the policies and standards set forth in Ramboll’s Project Execution Manual. Promoting and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees by adhering to Ramboll’s Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures. Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or greater. Licensed Professional Engineer. 10+ years of experience in engineering and design of HVAC systems. Working knowledge of fire protection requirements for industrial facilities, including the IFC, NFPA standards and FM Global guidelines. Desire to work in chemical, power, and industrial market segment. Desire and ability to work at industrial facilities gathering data for designs (expect Detail oriented individual. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced work environment. Experience with Autodesk Revit is preferred. This range reflects the compensation reasonably expected to be offered at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations.
