Job Title: Telemetry Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 15 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year of experience in MS/MS-Tele License: Active Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - 1 year of acute care experience in telemetry - Strong comfort with IV starts - Preferred experience with TURPS-CBI and knowledge of critical access or trauma levels 3 or 4 Description: We are seeking a dedicated Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our team. This role focuses on the care of patients with various telehealth needs. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 during day shifts and 6:1 on nights. Team nursing is practiced with LPNs, resulting in ratios of 2:7. Common patient diagnoses include NHP, cellulitis, UTI, COPD, and sepsis. The nurse will need to navigate limited resources and will be expected to adapt quickly. Experience with various procedures is preferred. Charge nurses have assignments, and travelers may serve as relief charge nurses. There are nursing assistants available on the unit to support patient care. Clientists or intensivists are present daily until 6 PM, after which telemedicine is used. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for patient support. Registered nurses are required to have basic telemetry arrhythmia knowledge. Shifts are 12 hours long, and weekend rotation is required every other weekend. There are holiday requirements as well. The role may include on-call or standby shifts as necessary. Floating to similar units and patients is mandatory for this position.
