Our comprehensive services include food and nutrition, healthcare navigation, aging and disability support, and connection to housing and other vital resources.Position Overview:Chicken Soup Brigade (CSB) is Lifelong’s food and nutrition program, providing medically tailored meals, culturally relevant groceries, and nutritional counseling & education to community members facing illness and injustice. The Temporary Delivery Driver plays a key role in ensuring clients receive their groceries and medically tailored meals safely, reliably, and with dignity.This temporary, full-time, non-exempt, non-union role is expected to last through 12/31/2026 and is based in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle with onsite presence required 08:30AM – 5PM Monday – Friday.Essential DutiesDistributionOperate agency vehicles to deliver groceries and medically tailored meals to clients throughout the Puget Sound region, which may include other unique stops across multiple counties.Provide respectful, compassionate customer service during deliveries to clients who may be experiencing health challenges or other barriers.Load, transport, and deliver items safely and to prevent damage and spoilage.Plan and navigate efficient delivery routes using GPS and routing tools, accounting for traffic, construction, and client scheduling needs.Follow all traffic laws, posted signs, and safety protocols.Maintain vehicle cleanliness and always ensure safe operating conditions.Lifelong’s Food and Nutrition department is a dynamic and growing program, requiring adaptability, flexibility and prioritizing of time and resources for meeting daily deliverables.WarehouseRepack bulk shelf-stable food items for distribution.Assemble grocery bags with fresh produce and perishable goods.Prepare frozen meals for delivery.Receive deliveries of inbound freight and store them while maintaining food safety guidelines.Support general warehouse operations and complete additional tasks as assigned.Core Competencies:Comfort in working with individuals along the entire continuum of diversity, including but not limited to varying abilities, races, classes, gender identities, and sexual orientations.Demonstrates outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.Demonstrated strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail.Proven excellent time management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability.Proven ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written form.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments and shifting priorities.Education & Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent experience.Valid Washington State Driver’s License with an excellent record.Preferred: Experience working with culturally diverse populations.Preferred: demonstrated competence, as evidenced through previous experience, working with clients with psychiatric disabilities, chemical dependency and/or life-challenging illness.Benefits:401(k) matchAccrued sick & safe leaveWork Environment:All positions that involve in person work with clients are required to undergo a TB test within 30 days of starting employment and annually, or as required by program.Any offer of employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background check. Some programs may require additional background checks or frequency.Depending on organizational needs, work may be performed in office, kitchen, or warehouse settings and may at times involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions or loud noises.This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, navigation of stairs, and reaching. Employees must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds to move supplies or equipment.
