About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty License: Active nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: Must have MICU and/or SICU experience. Independent and competent ability to work with complex, high-acuity medical and trauma/neuro/surgical ICU patients is required. Description: This position is not for novice or entry-level RNs. Previous charge experience is preferred. Patients are primarily in the Critical Care Division. Floating may be required to other units based on census needs. Weekend needs will vary based on unit requirements. The unit includes a medical ICU and a surgical/trauma/neurosurgical ICU. The daily census is 26 patients with an average patient ratio of 2:1. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. Patient diagnoses include a variety of conditions such as ARDS, AHRF, COPD, sepsis, cardiac surgery, and trauma-related injuries. The role requires managing various equipment and specialized procedures commonly performed in an ICU setting. Experience with trauma level I and II is preferred for this position. Candidates will not float to any affiliate hospitals unless agreed upon during the interview process.
