School Bus Driver

The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and related activities. This role requires adherence to traffic laws and safety regulations while ensuring a positive and supportive environment for students.

Safe Transportation: Operate the school bus in a safe and responsible manner, following established routes and schedules.

Student Management: Ensure the safety and well-being of students while on the bus, maintaining order and addressing any behavioral issues as needed.

Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct daily pre-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe working condition, including checking brakes, lights, and other essential systems.

Emergency Procedures: Be prepared to execute emergency procedures and first aid as necessary; maintain knowledge of school district policies.

Communication: Maintain clear communication with school officials, parents, and students regarding schedules, routes, and any changes.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, incidents, and mileage.

Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and safety meetings as required.

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience as a bus driver preferred, but not required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.

Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Ability to lift and assist students as needed.

Must be able to sit for extended periods and operate a large vehicle.

Primarily operates in a school district environment, traveling various routes.
