Job Summary

RAM Construction Services is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain to lead procurement, materials management, vendor partnerships, and logistics operations across our restoration and waterproofing projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the timely delivery of high-performance materials and equipment that support safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

The Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain will develop and execute a scalable supply chain strategy that supports multiple concurrent façade restoration, concrete repair, structural rehabilitation, and waterproofing projects. This leader will collaborate closely with Operations, Estimating, Project Management, and Field Leadership to optimize purchasing processes, strengthen supplier relationships, reduce material risks, control costs, and minimize project delays.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in procurement and supply chain management within the construction industry, exceptional vendor negotiation skills, and a proven ability to build processes that support growth and operational excellence

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Strategic Leadership & Planning

• Develop a specialized supply chain strategy aligned with the unique demands of concrete repair, masonry restoration, and structural rehabilitation projects.
• Forecast material demand based on backlog and manufacturer lead times.
• Lead risk management for specialty products with long lead times such as custom masonry units and FRP strengthening systems.
• Build strategic relationships with key restoration manufacturers.

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Oversee procurement for repair mortars, patching compounds, masonry units, waterproofing systems, coatings, corrosion inhibitors, FRP materials, anchors, and façade stabilization systems.
• Negotiate terms with manufacturers and distributors.

Warehouse Management and Logistics

• Coordinate logistics for projects involving difficult access, occupied buildings, and urban conditions.
• Manage sequencing of all warehouse deliveries.
• Implement systems for tracking critical-path materials.
• Inventory control for (5) locations

Large Equipment/Tool Management

• Prepare and manage yearly budgets for Large Equipment
• Oversight of in-house equipment rental program
• Oversight of all repair/maintenance of equipment and small tools
• Strategize with user groups to assess need.
• Ensure best practices for all the above

Fleet Management

• Prepare and manage yearly budgets for the fleet of vehicles and trailers.
• Oversight of repair/maintenance of the fleet
• Strategize with user groups to assess needs
• Ensure best practices for all the above

Operations & Process Improvement

• Standardize material submittal workflows, QA/QC requirements, batch tracking, and manufacturer certifications.
• Implement ERP/procurement systems tailored to multi-site restoration work
• Create material playbooks for repeat scopes
• Improve project look-ahead schedules for materials, staging, and access equipment.

Financial Management

• Develop budgets and cost-reduction strategies.
• Monitor commodity pricing and negotiate annual pricing protections.
• Coordinate accurate cost coding, accruals, and forecasting with Finance.
• Identify opportunities for bulk purchasing, returns, and reusables.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor procurement and logistics teams familiar with restoration materials.
• Establish performance expectations and KPIs.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and Project Management.

Education & Qualifications Required

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in supply chain/logistics within restoration, concrete repair, masonry, or specialty trades.
• Strong knowledge of restoration materials, standards, and manufacturer systems.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Acumatica, Procore, CMiC, or Viewpoint.

Technical Knowledge

• Familiar with ICRI repair guidelines, ASTM material standards, historic preservation requirements, and material compatibility principles.

As a Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain for RAM, the employee will be subject to an office work environment.
