Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Richmond, VA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM

Job Description: The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor and delivery, as well as postpartum and nursery care. The nurse will work in a dynamic Maternal Infant Unit, ensuring high-quality care and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for laboring patients and assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections.
• Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being using GE fetal monitors.
• Administer medications and perform necessary medical interventions.
• Deliver post-partum and newborn care, ensuring a smooth transition for both mother and infant.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records using Meditech and CPN.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification.
• Experience with high birth volumes in an LDRP setting is preferred.
