Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and energetic HVAC Mechanic/Installer to join our growing Mechanical Division. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the installation of commercial and Industrial HVAC systems, including ductwork, gas piping, and air distribution equipment.  This role requires strong construction experience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work at a fast pace.

Key Responsibilities

·         Set and install commercial HVAC equipment to include setting curbs, field installed components, low voltage accessories, and overseeing safe crane practices where required.
·         Ability to install other mechanical equipment and materials such as Ductwork, HVLS fans, unit heaters, louvers, exhaust fans a plus.
·         Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and equipment installation manuals.
·         Field source materials or parts as needed to keep projects moving.
·         Must have a proactive and problem-solving mindsight.
·         Ability to safely operate power tools such as saws, drills, torches, or other equipment.
·         Provide excellent communication to HVAC Superintendent on job progress and project needs.
·         Identify and communicate change order items as they arise when client requests differ from mechanical plans.
·         Ability to direct helpers or apprentices during projects to ensure timelines are met and quality work is performed.
·         Work safely at all times adhering to Scout safety practices and wearing required PPE on all job sites.
 

Job Requirements:

·               3 - 5 years of experience in commercial or industrial construction, ideally working in the mechanical trade.
·               Strong general construction knowledge to include method and means of setting mechanical equipment.
·               Strong knowledge of commercial hvac equipment, gas pipe, and components involved in mechanical projects.
·               Ability to read and understand mechanical / architectural plans, and instruction manuals.
·               Experience installing HVAC systems, ductwork, and associated components.
·               Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
·               Maintains professionalism and core values while interacting with customers and co-workers.
·               Ability to safely lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, work from aerial equipment, or other elevated platforms.
