Senior Platform Software Engineer

You'll be a Senior Platform Software Engineer at Cello, the Revenue Growth Infrastructure platform trusted by category leaders like Typeform, Miro, and Veed. You'll own AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and system reliability for a platform serving 10M+ monthly end users. This is a hands-on role where you'll shape architecture decisions, work directly with stakeholders, and build the foundation that lets our team ship fast and confidently.

What You'll Do

• Architect, deploy, and operate AWS infrastructure across compute, messaging, storage, networking, and observability with full ownership and operational responsibility.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enable zero-manual-step deployments from commit to production.
• Manage PostgreSQL in production, handling configuration, performance tuning, migrations, and backup strategies.
• Make pragmatic decisions about when to move fast and when to invest in foundational quality.
• Collaborate directly with stakeholders and product teams to influence architecture and direction.
• Stay current with AI-powered development tools and integrate them into our build and deployment workflows.
• Debug complex, ambiguous problems across distributed systems and ship solutions that work at scale.

What We're Looking For

• Deep AWS expertise built from running production systems—not just familiarity, but operational instinct across compute, messaging, storage, networking, and observability.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or similar; you version everything and avoid manual console clicks.
• Solid distributed systems thinking: ordering guarantees, idempotency, retries, at-least-once delivery, and partial failure recovery.
• Production PostgreSQL experience including configuration, connection pooling, migrations, performance optimization, and backup/restore.
• Enough application-layer literacy to read and understand TypeScript/Node.js (NestJS) codebases.
• Proven ability to build and operate systems at real scale: high traffic, large user bases, high availability requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills; you break down complex problems and ship pragmatic solutions, not just debug what's in front of you.
• Comfort with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, multi-agent setups, MCP servers) and a track record of pushing them to their limits.
• Deep technical foundation—you can debug, reason about architecture, and carry your weight without an AI assistant holding your hand.
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills; you contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, and take genuine ownership.
• Genuine curiosity about the product and why we're building it, not just ticket execution.
