YOUR ROLE Oversee the contract/s and all employees in the growth and development of additional business opportunities with existing customers. Ensure ongoing customer service and customer relations are maintained by overseeing the contract’s daily operations based on the needs of the customer. Responsible for the attainment of profit objectives of contracts. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? Ensure ongoing customer service and maintain customer relations through focusing on the contract’s daily operations based on customer’s needs. Responsible for attainment of profit objectives of contracts, provide financial analysis and decision making for customer. Responsible for the organic growth and development of additional business opportunities with existing customer. Ensure safety, maintain quality, establish and monitor cost control programs. Lead and foster creative problem solving, develop positive and professional relationships with customer and within contracts. Provide leadership in coaching, mentoring, personnel selection, professional development. Oversee operations management within the company guidelines. Oversee operations schedule and staff the contract in anticipation of customer needs. Provide support and guidance to hiring manager. Manage the contract staff to assure continued quality service by writing procedures, testing, hiring and training managerial and operational personnel. Maintain corporate productivity and quality award programs to recognize outstanding performance. Encourage use of Performance Management system in all facets of the Contract operation. Train managers and other personnel strategically in all areas that will help them achieve the contract goals and objectives and satisfy the customer. Establish ongoing programs to ensure continuous improvement. This includes the use of Kaizen, LEAN and the EQS program to maintain quality performance. Motivate the workforce with the Performance Management program; encourage input from the employees through Employee Involvement Groups; and reward for continuous performance. Establish and monitor cost control programs, including annual budget development, monthly P & L review and payroll and cost analysis. Handle daily administration of contract, including preparation of customer related performance reports and all other correspondence; requests from vendors, general office and contract employees; and all other items that fall within managerial scope of responsibility. Negotiate and Enforce Collective Bargaining Agreement where applicable. Negotiate resolutions pertaining to conflicts in the workplace. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Demonstrated excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to train, motivate, coach and counsel others. Excellent oral communication and customer relations skills. Creative and possess the ability to think strategically outside the box. Computer literate. Excellent organizational and financial management skills. Problem solving, conflict resolution, decision-making and planning /organizing skills. Ability to multi-task and excellent time management skills. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in logistics, 3PL or transportation. 5 to 10 years senior management experience in a transportation/ industrial environment. Preferred Union experience.
