Veterinary Assistant - Primary Care

The Role As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an essential role in supporting our veterinarians and RVTs while ensuring every patient receives outstanding care. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing exam rooms and obtaining patient histories Providing compassionate patient care and nursing support Administering vaccines Assisting with treatments, diagnostics and anaesthesia Supporting surgical procedures Performing blood draws and running laboratory samples Maintaining accurate medical records Assisting with client communication and education Supporting reception duties when required, including scheduling appointments, answering phones and checking clients in and out Helping maintain a clean, organised and efficient hospital What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in delivering exceptional patient and client care. You’ll ideally have: Minimum 1–2 years' Veterinary Assistant experience Strong phlebotomy skills Experience placing IV catheters Experience running in-house laboratory diagnostics Excellent attention to detail Strong communication and client service skills Compassionate approach to patient care Positive attitude and collaborative team spirit Ability to thrive in a busy hospital environment Schedule Full-time position Four 10-hour shifts Monday–Saturday availability required Shift start times may vary Compensation $23–$27 per hour Shift differential available for applicable shifts About VetnCare VetnCare is a growing community of veterinary hospitals across Northern California, built on the belief that exceptional patient care starts with exceptional people.
