The ideal candidate will design and oversee plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, and government facilities. This role involves collaborating with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Layout: Develop plumbing system designs including domestic water, sanitary, storm drainage, and specialty systems (medical gas, compressed air, etc.).Technical Documentation: Prepare drawings, specifications, and cost estimates using AutoCAD and Revit.Code Compliance: Ensure designs meet local, state, and national codes (IPC, NFPA, LEED standards).Coordination: Work closely with architects, structural, and mechanical engineers to integrate plumbing systems into overall building design.Construction Support: Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and perform site visits for quality assurance.Analysis: Conduct hydraulic calculations, sizing of piping systems, and equipment selection.Innovation: Incorporate sustainable design practices and energy-efficient solutions.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.10-15 years of plumbing design experience in building projects.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with BIM workflows.Strong understanding of plumbing codes, standards, and sustainable design principles.PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of employmentExcellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.US Citizenship requiredBenefitsWRA recognizes that employees play an important role in its success.
