As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for: Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. Promoting the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrating personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values. Job Requirements In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following: Education Requirements Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs. Experience Requirements One year experience preferred. Specialty-specific nursing skills and knowledge base. Licenses/Certification Requirements RN license required; current state nursing license or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact. Physical Requirements Medium work – able to exert up to 50 pounds force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly. Where You'll Work Holy Cross Hospital Davis runs two Emergency Departments. The main department is 21‑beds in Layton City, a Level 3 Trauma center, Primary Stroke center, and Chest Pain center with an average volume of over 2000 patients per month. The other is a stand‑alone Emergency Department in Roy City with 14 beds and an average volume of over 28 patients per day. Team members in these departments are courageous, motivated, and have a keen interest in emergency medicine. The ED is a fast‑paced, intense environment that fosters teamwork and camaraderie. Prioritizing, multi‑tasking, critical thinking, and assisting others are extremely important. This department is a great place to learn and become proficient in multiple nursing skills. Training is intense and ever‑ongoing. A strong knowledge of all disease and injury physiology and processes is extremely important. You will work alongside board‑certified emergency physicians and highly skilled PAs and NPs. We look for candidates who are hard workers, adaptable, not afraid to ask questions, accept criticism, be flexible with schedules, team players, fast learners, and able to see the broader picture of patient care.
