Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team with preparing instruments and maintaining sterile conditions.

• Document procedure details and instrument counts accurately for patient records.

• Prepare and organize surgical trays and supplies for procedures.

• Assist with surgical case turnover to optimize OR throughput and efficiency.

• Collaborate with surgeons and staff to meet daily targets and quality metrics.

• Ensure proper handling and disposal of clinical waste following safety protocols.

• Adhere to campus or facility-specific policies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

• Demonstrate adaptability by learning new techniques and evolving within the role.

• Monitor equipment functionality and report malfunctions promptly.

• Maintain professional development plan aligned with merit-based advancement.

• Support patient care areas by translating clinical needs into actionable tasks.

Experience/Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification preferred.

• Experience with instrument handling, tray setup, and sterile technique.

• Accurate intraoperative documentation and instrument counts for patient records.

• Strong teamwork to support OR turnover and throughput targets.

• Compliance with safety, waste disposal, and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, AORN).

• Ability to learn new techniques and adapt to evolving surgical practices.

• Proactive equipment monitoring and prompt reporting of malfunctions.

• Demonstrated focus on professional development and merit-based advancement.

• On-site presence with the ability to translate clinical needs into actionable tasks.

• Attention to campus/facility policies and local regulatory standards.
