This role will partner directly with the Accounting Manager to build a best-in-class accounting function that can adapt, grow, and meet the changing needs of the organization as it evolves. You will also collaborate with other finance team members.On this small but high-impact team, you will assist directly with day-to-day financial activities and monthly reporting. You will partner to build, implement, maintain, and support accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to streamline operations, mitigate risk, and improve financial reporting to aid in better decision-making and transparency.What You'll DoSupport the day-to-day accounting operations of Pomelo Care, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledgerAssist with the monthly financial closes, including creating monthly journal entries and performing account reconciliationsAssist with the maintenance of financial tools and systemsPrepare monthly financial statements and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close package reporting. This includes managing intercompany allocations and accumulation of financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business resultsPartner with the accounting team and cross-functional stakeholders to build, implement, maintain and support accounting processes, systems, and internal controls, including offering recommendations for improvement, evaluating future business needs and managing complianceAd hoc analyses and projects as neededWho You AreYou have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceYou have 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience at a startup and/or public accounting companyExcellent attention to detail and strong, collaborative analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing prioritiesDesire to learn and develop your skill set to take on more responsibility and a diverse set of tasks/ experiencesWilling to roll up your sleeves and figure things out. This role is also eligible for equity, giving you an ownership stake in Pomelo's mission.
