The Opportunity and Job Description P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School (DRS) is seeking to hire a part-time (.50) OPS K-5 Science/STEM Instructor for the 26-27 school year. Instructor responsibilities include the following:
The PKY- K-5 Science/STEM Instructor will extend science, engineering, and STEM learning for elementary students beyond the core classrooms. This instructor will be responsible for the design and implementation of an authentic, hands-on science curriculum in alignment with Florida standards for K-5 science. This instructor will need the knowledge and skills to design relevant, high-interest units of study and the ability to engage learners across elementary school grade levels. Both the design and implementation of curriculum will be within the responsibility of this role. The ideal candidate would have teaching experience and instructional experience in tech tools and computer programming to support student learning.

The Opportunity and Job Description P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School (DRS) is seeking to hire a part-time (.50) OPS K-5 Science/STEM Instructor for the 26-27 school year. Instructor responsibilities include the following:
- Design and develop personally meaningful, real-world projects that are based on and in alignment with Florida state science standards
- Collaborate and co-teach with other science and engineering educators at P.K. Yonge
- Partner and collaborate with grade-level teachers to ensure cohesiveness and alignment between the science lab/STEM experience and core classroom science instruction
- Create and model quality science lessons that core subject area teachers can replicate in their classrooms
- Provide direct instruction of assigned students to strengthen instructional coherence and student learning outcomes.
- Administer and analyze formative assessments to monitor student progress and and inform targeted instructional strategies that support increased achievement and success for all students
- Design appropriate curriculum, instructional, and assessment accommodations to support academic success for a diverse group of students including both striving and advanced learners
- Incorporate effective and innovative uses of technology to support teaching, learning, and collaboration in a 1:1 learning environment
- Maintain consistent and proactive communication with families through virtual and face-to-face engagement.
- Reflect on and analyze the impact of instructional practices and curriculum implementation on student learning to inform continuous improvement.
