Duties/Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the compliance program for a multi-specialty, multi-site medical group. Develop and implement policies and procedures covering all relevant aspects of a medical group compliance program, including fraud, waste and abuse, HIPAA/privacy, conflicts of interest, research, Stark, anti-kickback and IT usage. Modify policies and procedures to remain in compliance with federal and state regulations. Interpret and distribute information on regulatory and compliance matters. Educate and train employees on relevant compliance topics. Enforce disciplinary guidelines to ensure consistent adherence to standards. Detect compliance offenses, respond appropriately, and implement corrective actions. Manage internal audits and coordinate with independent third-party auditors to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, including billing, coding and documentation. Manage audits by third-party payors and by federal and state government agencies. Function as HIPAA Privacy Officer, including the medical record release process. Oversee the IT Security Officer, OSHA Manager, internal auditors and records release staff. Establish and manage a compliance hotline and channels for reporting concerns without retaliation. Report compliance status to the Compliance Committee and board of directors on a monthly basis; report directly to the board of directors. Provide legal guidance when appropriate if a law degree is held. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum 3-5 years healthcare compliance experience. Strong knowledge of federal and state healthcare compliance laws and regulations. Demonstrated ability in compliance policy and procedure development, implementation, education and monitoring. Law degree and healthcare compliance certifications preferred. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organization and problem-solving skills. Job Details Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday to Friday Salary Range: $175,000 to $225,000 annually Benefits: Employee discount, Paid time off, Retirement plan The potential base pay range for this position is $175,000-$225,000 annually.
