Pharmacy Technician in Grand Prairie, TX

A specialized opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician to support an AIDS/HIV specialty pharmacy setting focused on compassionate, non-judgmental care. This contract role involves working in a retail pharmacy environment servicing the Community AIDS Network's healthcare needs with accuracy and sensitivity.


Location: Grand Prairie, TX

Type: Contract - 13 weeks

Schedule:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
• Friday: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
  
  Start Date: ASAP, beginning around April 6th

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct typical retail pharmacy duties, including data entry and medication dispensing
• Maintain respectful, non-judgmental communication with patients, particularly those with HIV/AIDS
• Utilize pharmacy software, preferably QS1, to ensure accurate processing
• Collaborate with pharmacy team to provide excellent patient care

Desired Qualifications:

• At least 1 year experience in retail pharmacy settings
• Prior HIV/AIDS dispensing experience with strong patient communication skills
• TX Pharmacy Technician license required; PTCB certification is a plus but not mandatory
• Fast learner, capable of adapting quickly to new procedures
• Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred to better serve the community
