About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS required Must-Have: - Cardiac Telemetry experience required - Focus on the cardiac patient, including Congestive Heart Failure, rule-out myocardial infarction, Acute Coronary Syndrome, and arrhythmias - Secondary focus on respiratory problems, such as COPD and pneumonia Description: This position requires working three 12-hour night shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Every other weekend and holiday availability is necessary. Floating may be required as needed. Minimum of two years of nursing experience is required. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory. The primary focus will be on cardiac patients with diagnoses such as heart failure and acute coronary syndrome. The secondary focus may include patients with respiratory conditions like COPD and pneumonia. Staffing ratios for days and nights are around five patients per nurse. The average daily census is approximately 30 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Special procedures may involve cardiac care, telemetry monitoring, and patient education. All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam with two attempts allowed. Candidates must be able to float to various facilities as needed. This role emphasizes effective communication and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
