Opti Staffing Group is partnering with a respected Anchorage organization seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership of the payroll process while also supporting employee benefits administration and accounting functions. What You'll Be Doing: Payroll Administration Process payroll from employee onboarding through termination Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files Manage payroll taxes, direct deposits, garnishments, deductions, and withholdings Prepare and distribute year‑end payroll documents including W-2s Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations Reconcile payroll‑related accounts and reports Benefits Administration Administer employee benefit programs and enrollments Review benefit invoices and verify employee eligibility and premium deductions Assist employees with payroll and benefits‑related questions Track PTO balances, leave programs, and employee accruals Support retirement contribution processing and reporting Accounting & Administrative Support Assist with audits and payroll‑related reporting Prepare payroll and benefits reports for leadership Support general ledger reconciliations and accounting functions Maintain confidential employee information Provide additional administrative and financial support as needed What We're Looking For: Minimum 2 years of payroll and benefits administration experience Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax reporting, and compliance requirements Experience working with payroll software and HRIS systems Strong Microsoft Excel skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively Highly Preferred Qualifications: Paylocity experience (strongly preferred) Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field Bachelor's Degree preferred FPC or CPP Payroll Certification is a plus Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations Why You'll Love This Opportunity: Competitive pay: $28.50 - $30.00 per hour DOE Outstanding benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and additional employee perks Tuition waiver program allowing eligible employees to pursue college coursework and degree programs at little to no cost Flexible and supportive work environment that values work‑life balance Stable organization with long‑term career growth opportunities Collaborative and supportive leadership team Meaningful role with a high level of responsibility and impact Professional development and continued learning opportunities #J-18808-Ljbffr
