California Licensed Product Counsel
Virtual Vocations Inc
To support a growing product legal function, the full-time California Licensed Product Counsel will manage Nex's privacy program, advise cross-functional teams on product lifecycle legal issues, and develop compliance frameworks for children's privacy and emerging AI regulations, all in a remote work environment. Key responsibilities Own and maintain Nex's privacy program, ensuring compliance with COPPA and other children's privacy regulations Advise Product, Engineering, Trust & Safety, and Design teams on legal risks throughout the product development lifecycle Build playbooks and scalable legal review processes to facilitate efficient product launches and compliance Required qualifications J.D. and active bar membership in good standing (California or another U.S. state) 4-7+ years of relevant legal experience, including in-house product counseling and law firm experience Deep experience with children's privacy compliance (COPPA, GDPR-K, etc.) Experience advising on consumer protection law related to subscriptions and marketing claims Ability to create legal frameworks and processes from scratch Virtual Vocations Inc
