Embedded Software Engineer

A client of Insight Global is looking for a embedded software engineer to join a brandnew robotics and motor controls initiative within the logistics and automation space. This engineer will play a key role in developing a new lift system and custom robotic platform, coding the robot itself using an inhouse controller rather than prebuilt solutions. The role is highly handson and focused on greenfield development, requiring the ability to design, write, and rebuild embedded control modules from scratch in C++ and Python while working closely with hardware, motors, and controllers. A major challenge of the project involves rearchitecting functionality previously handled by proprietary code, so candidates should be comfortable replacing existing systems and building custom solutions endtoend. The ideal background includes strong embedded C++ experience, motor controls, and nonROS robotics development, with additional exposure to custom firmware, automation, or materialhandling systems considered a plus.
