About the Opportunity

Marcelli Steel is an established, AISC-Certified structural steel fabrication company specializing in structural steel and miscellaneous metals for commercial, industrial, and public construction projects.

We are seeking a hands-on Shop Foreman to oversee daily fabrication operations, supervise shop personnel, coordinate production, and maintain our standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop operations, fabrication personnel, and production schedules.
• Assign work, supervise employees, and maintain productivity and accountability.
• Read and interpret structural steel shop drawings and fabrication requirements.
• Coordinate material flow, equipment needs, and fabrication priorities.
• Provide hands-on fabrication guidance and resolve production issues.
• Ensure fabricated steel meets project specifications, AISC quality requirements, and applicable welding standards.
• Identify and resolve fabrication, quality, and production issues.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient shop environment.
• Communicate regularly with management regarding production progress, scheduling, and personnel.
• Maintain quality standards in accordance with our AISC Quality Management System and applicable welding requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel fabrication, welding, and shop operations.
• Previous foreman, supervisory, or lead fabricator experience with demonstrated leadership ability.
• Ability to independently read and interpret structural steel shop drawings.
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1 and AISC quality requirements preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience directing employees, coordinating work, and maintaining production schedules.
• A proactive, dependable individual who takes ownership of their work and holds employees accountable
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
