Job description: Overview We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Host/Server to join our team at Chubby Cattle Wagyu Shabu House, Michigan’s premier destination for authentic Wagyu shabu shabu dining. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality by warmly greeting guests, efficiently managing seating arrangements, and providing attentive table service. A passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and a commitment to guest satisfaction are essential for success in this position. Duties Greet and seat guests promptly upon arrival, ensuring a warm and professional welcome. Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently to optimize seating and guest flow. Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer guest questions about menu items and dining experience. Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems. Serve food and drinks in a timely manner while ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards. Monitor tables and dining areas to anticipate guest needs and provide seamless service. Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, including tables, floors, and service stations. Respond to guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism and courtesy. Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of high-quality orders. Assist with onboarding and training new team members on guest service standards and restaurant protocols. Experience & Qualifications Previous hosting or serving experience is preferred but not required. Background in food service, fine dining, or hospitality is highly desirable. Strong customer service and guest relations skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with POS systems (Aloha POS or Micros POS) is a plus. Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Professional phone etiquette for handling reservations and guest inquiries effectively. Team player with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality.
