About the company Foundation Alloy is building the most advanced metal alloy company in the world. What you'll be working on: Originate and shape government-funded programs by identifying emerging agency needs, engaging stakeholders early, and positioning Foundation Alloy to capture future opportunities across defense, energy, and advanced manufacturing. Lead the development of technical proposals, white papers, statements of work (SOWs), and other submission materials required to secure government contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements. Build and maintain relationships with government stakeholders, program offices, laboratories, and funding organizations to increase awareness of Foundation Alloy and its capabilities. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal funding programs, contracting pathways, agency priorities, and emerging initiatives relevant to Foundation Alloy’s technology. Track, evaluate, and prioritize government opportunities, ensuring internal resources are focused on the highest-impact pursuits. Coordinate cross-functional proposal and capture efforts across technical, commercial, and operations teams to develop compelling, compliant, and competitive submissions. Serve as the primary liaison between Foundation Alloy and government agencies throughout the opportunity, proposal, award, and execution lifecycle. Build internal processes and systems for managing government opportunities, proposal development, reporting requirements, and program execution. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify partnership opportunities and strengthen Foundation Alloy's ability to win and execute government-funded programs. Monitor government funding trends, strategic priorities, and policy developments to identify new pathways for Foundation Alloy’s advanced materials platform. Qualifications Advanced technical background in materials science, metallurgy, manufacturing, energy, defense, engineering, or a related deep-tech field. PhD in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience working at the intersection of advanced technology and government-funded R&D programs a plus Demonstrated experience developing technical proposals, white papers, statements of work (SOWs), and other materials for government contracts, grants, or cooperative agreements. Experience working with government agencies, national laboratories, defense organizations, or federally funded research programs and a strong understanding of the government funding landscape, including agencies such as the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, DARPA, ARPA-E, AFRL, NAVSEA, or related organizations. Track record of identifying, shaping, or securing government-funded programs and strategic partnerships. Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling proposals and funding narratives. Strong verbal communication and relationship-building skills, with experience engaging technical, commercial, and government stakeholders. Self-starter mentality with a strong drive to build new programs, create opportunities, and establish yourself as a trusted partner within the government ecosystem. Existing relationships within relevant government agencies, laboratories, program offices, or funding organizations are highly desirable.
