Registered Nurse Employee Health The RN Employee Health plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of team members across the organization. This position is responsible for performing pre‑placement screenings, conducting return‑to‑work clearances, fit for duty evaluations, and annual health screenings and assessments. This role demonstrates the ability to multi‑task and reflects clinical experience incorporating initiative, flexibility, team effort, and responsibility indicative of professional expectations with minimum supervision. Effectively interacts with the Endeavor Health workforce, Human Resources, medical staff, and management, while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing, and provides professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policies and procedures. Hourly Pay Range : $38.16 - $59.15, determined by expertise and experience. Position Highlights Position: Registered Nurse Employee Health Location: Northwest Community Hospital (Arlington Heights, IL) Full Time/Part Time: Part‑time, 20 hours per week Hours: Monday‑Friday, 7:30am‑4:00pm Required Travel: travel to other Endeavor Health sites may be required for meetings or coverage What you will do Perform pre‑placement screenings for employed and contingent worker groups, including reviewing serology documentation and vaccine history, providing immunizations, conducting tuberculosis surveillance, drug and alcohol testing, and respirator fit testing to ensure compliance with post‑offer health requirements. Communicate regularly with candidates, Human Resources, and management on clearance status. Conduct annual TB surveillance and Respirator Fit Testing (RFT) for team members flagged in the system. Participate in annual mass vaccination programs for seasonal flu and covid‑19 vaccinations for the Endeavor Health workforce. Manage immunization compliance and testing for catch‑up programs. Review lab results, enter data into medical record system, and reach out to non‑compliant team members. Perform occupational exposure follow‑up to communicable diseases. Conduct initial telephone interviews, triage exposed team members, review test results, determine appropriate follow‑up care. Handle intake calls for blood & body fluid exposures, including triage, ordering labs, charting, creating follow‑up appointments, and providing additional education. Provide rotating on‑call coverage for work‑related exposures and ILI symptom screenings during non‑business hours (includes blood & body fluid exposures, communicable diseases, and symptom screenings). Respond to calls promptly, responding within 15 minutes of notification. Educate exposed team members on processes during off hours, including documentation, medical treatment plan, lab results, and post‑exposure prophylaxis if needed. Screen team members for symptoms following a communicable disease illness. Evaluate physician's notes and discharge summaries for restrictions and assess alignment with job duties. Compare team member's current health status to physical and mental demands of their role; partner with Employee Health provider to determine if they can return to work with or without accommodations. Communicate return‑to‑work status and required accommodations or restrictions to managers. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records; document all activity within the electronic management system in accordance with internal policies and state regulations. Provide patient care in compliance with NPSG and Core Measures; maintain continuous Joint Commission readiness; comply with HIPAA regulations; support patient safety and infection control protocols. What you will need Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare/Science in Illinois. Certification: Current RN license in Illinois; Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) from AHA. Certification in Urine Drug Screening, Breath Alcohol Testing, and Hair Drug Screening procedures (at time of hire or within 3 months). Experience: 3+ years of clinical nursing experience. Unique or Preferred Skills: Phlebotomy skills (at time of hire or within 3 months). Knowledge and experience documenting patient care in an electronic medical record. Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills. Ability to make clinical assessments and judgments. Ability to provide counseling and emotional support. Ability to support team members.
