Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant - Outpatient Pediatrics Hematology Oncology

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Hematology & Oncology is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to work full time primarily in the Pediatric Sickle Cell Clinic and some Pediatric Hematology Clinic at Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. Responsibilities also include providing health maintenance and disease prevention based on appropriate age and concomitant risk factors. Following established protocols, nurse practitioners/physician assistants assume responsibility for patient care management of a variety of patient populations. Duties will include comprehensive orders for clinic visits, evaluation and management of patients, progress notes, and care coordination. The APP demonstrates leadership skills, establishes effective relationships with patients, their families and members of patient care. The APP will function within the requirements of the State of South Carolina Board of Nursing or SC Board of Medical Examiners including designation of supervising/collaborating physician, alternate physicians and written protocols/scopes of practice guidelines, updated annually.
