Assistant Manager

Location 1100 Bellevue Way NE, Ste 900, Bellevue, WA, 98004 About the Role Managers at our growing cafes supervise up to 75 staff members to ensure a top‑quality service experience for our guests. As a Manager at Panera Bread, you will provide outstanding leadership, inspire others, coach and counseling, create a profitable environment, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. Our managers maintain high standards of restaurant cleanliness, sanitation, food quality, safety, and facility management. Responsibilities Take responsibility for overall business performance, including ordering, scheduling, labor management, marketing, facilities management, bakery operations, and catering. Analyze and plan restaurant sales levels and profitability. Create and execute plans for sustained profitability. Act as primary conduit of information between associates and management team. Retain and develop team members and managers. Manage a budget and control costs. Coordinate entire operation during scheduled shifts. Greet customers and conduct table visits to ensure satisfaction. Inspire associates to have fun and be authentic while generating high productivity. Coach and mentor through One‑On‑Ones, performance documentation, and performance reviews. Anticipate problems and take preventative action. Act as primary resource for resolving associate questions. Ensure associates are trained and competent in all food service and customer support tasks. Recruit and train staff to meet staffing par levels. Ensure objectives are achieved while operating within company guidelines, cultural values, and ethical business practices. Exhibit a professional image and promote company values and beliefs. Qualifications At least 2–3 years hospitality management experience. A degree or equivalent experience in Hospitality or Hotel/Restaurant Management (preferred). Food management certifications are a plus. Must have the “Run it Like You Own It” mentality. Physical Standards Must stand and maintain mobility for up to ten (10) hours, lift up to 50 pounds, read and write, and possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
