Senior Technical Application Engineer- Power Conversion Solutions

Opportunity Join our global Technical Sales Support team at Hitachi Energy’s Power Conversion Solutions as a Technical Application Engineer for North America, where you will work with customers and sales colleagues to ensure superior technical support. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our business growth at the heart of our global PCS sales team. As a Technical Application Engineer, you will work closely with customers, channel partners, and internal sales teams to deliver technical solutions that support grid-connected systems, including applications related to converters and emerging energy infrastructure. Your work will take place at the early stages of the sales process, where you will help shape technical solutions, influence customer choices, and support successful project outcomes. This role offers exposure to complex grid applications and the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of energy systems through collaboration with global teams. Your contributions will support the consistent application of technology, strengthen customer trust, and enable effective deployment of power conversion solutions across North America. How You'll Make An Impact Serve as technical advisor to our channel partners (Mainly system integrators, developers & EPC’s) In early stage of the sales process, lead technical presentations to highlight the value proposition of PCS Converters and MV-. Support sales & tender colleagues with technical solutions during tender process. Assist sales teams in enabling new partners through the PCS partner program and onboarding activities. Bring inputs to Business Development and Product Management for future needs. Represent technology at industry events and professional fairs as a technical ambassador. Support the deployment of technical tools which are necessary to our channel partners in order to secure superior technical collaboration and win customers trust with PCS converter technology. Support winning bids by early influencing our customers on key features and help sales with value propositions. Defines in close alignment with the tendering the solution design and verifies the sizing of the solution. Contribute together with the Business Development function to a global partner program including contract templates, training and qualification program for partners and marketing support. Your Background Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience. Concentration in Electrical Power / Energy Systems is preferred. Knowledge of power system principles and operations at the utility and industrial levels is required. Background in Battery Energy Storage Solutions and/or Renewables converter engineering. Proven experience in technical engineering & sales, ideally in the Converter or BESS markets. Ability to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency. Experience with utility scale power converters for BESS and/or similar technology. Strong communication skills to align with Process Owners and manage technical sales. Proven leadership skills.
