Facilities Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities Assist maintenance staff with simple, routine tasks such as cleaning work areas, organizing tools, and basic facility upkeep. Perform basic duties such as changing light bulbs, tightening loose hardware, and helping with minor repairs under guidance. Help maintain outdoor areas, including debris pickup and basic groundskeeping tasks. Learn how to operate building systems, including HVAC, electrical panels, plumbing fixtures, and mechanical equipment. Support technicians during inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks by gathering tools, preparing work areas, and observing procedures. Assist in recording maintenance activities in electronic or paper systems as trained. Learn to identify when equipment or building issues need to be reported to senior technicians. Help with emergency response tasks such as cleanup and basic checks following weather events or facility disruptions. Follow all company safety rules and report unsafe conditions immediately. Safely operate company machinery and report any issues. Perform other simple tasks as assigned while continuing to develop technical skills. Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Ability to follow instructions, safety rules, and basic written procedures. Willingness to learn about electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in hands‑on work preferred. Ability to use simple hand tools. Good problem‑solving attitude and willingness to ask questions. Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise, heights). Good communication skills and a positive, team‑oriented mindset. Strong work ethics, reliability, and eagerness to learn new skills. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational training or interest in trade skills preferred but not required.
