Ultrasound Technologist

Ultrasound Technologist Duties and Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

1. Shall perform outpatient/inpatient Ultrasound services and manage patients' needs as described.
2. Shall provide professional medical services or direct patient care services, appropriate and timely medical services.
3. Provide services in the radiology department in the delivery of patient care.
4. Will be subject to the technical direction and/or guidance of the designated official.
5. Shall review clinical records and adhere to record documentation procedures to ensure that records are properly maintained.
6. All documentation on patients shall be completed prior to the end of the shift.
7. Confers with remote radiologists to establish requirements of nonstandard examinations and determines technical factors, positioning, numbers of scans, etc., to satisfy requirements.
8. Advise radiologist or referring physician of results of examination and provide them with a preliminary ultrasound Scan evaluation; notify them of significant findings requiring their immediate attention and visualization while the patient is undergoing examination.

Ultrasound Technologist Requirements:

• Must have at least 3 years of experience performing a variety of ultrasound examinations, unless otherwise approved.
• Must be certified through the ARDMS or have ultrasound certification through the ARRT.
• Must have certification in Basic Life Support through the ARC or AHA.
