Construction Project Manager

Our client is a respected construction management firm that specializes in representing owners on public-sector construction projects throughout New York. They have developed a strong reputation for successfully managing municipal, educational, and government-funded projects by providing expert oversight, communication, and project coordination. The organization prides itself on delivering projects efficiently while serving as a trusted partner to owners, design teams, and contractors. With continued project growth across the Capital Region, the company is seeking a motivated construction professional to join its team. This role is primarily based on-site near Skylerville, NY and involves significant project administration, stakeholder coordination, and schedule management.

Job Description

As a Building and Construction Project Manager, you will:

• Act as the Owner's Representative on public construction projects
• Manage project administration from preconstruction through closeout
• Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Lead and participate in weekly project meetings
• Review and track submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
• Manage project workflows through Autodesk Construction Cloud and related platforms
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and overall progress
• Ensure compliance with project requirements and public-sector procedures
• Support procurement and contract administration activities
• Identify project risks and help drive timely resolution of issues
• Maintain clear communication between all project stakeholders
• Provide progress updates and reporting to ownership teams

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Building and Construction Project Manager candidate will have:

• 3-5+ years of construction project management experience
• Strong understanding of construction processes and project delivery
• Experience managing public-sector or municipal construction projects
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to facilitate meetings and manage stakeholder expectations
• Experience reviewing project documentation, submittals, and RFIs
• Proficiency with construction management technology and Microsoft Office

Highly Preferred Qualifications

• Direct Wicks Law experience
• Strong understanding of New York State public contracting procedures
• Experience working with municipalities, school districts, or government agencies
• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud
• Construction Management, Engineering, or related educational background
• Previous experience as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Superintendent
• Field experience with a desire to transition into project management will also be considered

Wicks Law knowledge is the single most important qualification for this position. Candidates with proven experience managing or coordinating New York public projects will be highly sought after.
