Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Medical Patrol in Arlington, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a professional environment through strong communication and customer service. You will contribute to a caring, reliable team that puts people first, acts with integrity, and brings an agile, innovative approach to every shift with Allied Universal.

Pay Rate: $22.40 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public while carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors, local authorities, and/or designated personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and help to enforce authorized entry procedures by verifying credentials, observing incoming and outgoing activity, and reporting policy violations or suspicious behavior.
• Support site operations by preparing reports, maintaining post records, and assisting with security-related checks of doors, gates, and/or restricted areas in accordance with site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare/medical-related field.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
