Description

American Traveler is seeking a PCU/Telemetry Float RN with strong telemetry or IMC experience for a fast-paced Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Float Pool position supporting MS/Tele, Stepdown, and IMC units
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4-6, with CNA ratios of 1:6-13 on days and 1:10-13 on nights
• 12-hour day shifts scheduled 0700-1930, four days per week
• Every other weekend required, but not guaranteed
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to West Valley Hospital
• Uses Epic for computerized documentation

Requirements

• Active OR RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required through AHA
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in MS/Tele/PCU/IMC
• Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
• Experience managing cardiac drips (nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone)
• Proficient in O2 protocol and non-invasive airway management
• Skilled in peripheral line care and management
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Able to activate rapid response team as needed
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital and Level II Trauma experience preferred

• Float Pool team supports adult inpatient units including ED, Psychiatric Medical Center, ICU, inpatient rehab, vascular access, and adult care units
• Also supports sister facility West Valley Hospital in Dallas, Oregon, approximately 15 minutes away
• Scrub color is royal blue
• Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level II Trauma status
• Free parking provided
• RTO requests exceeding 10 days require approval and must be finalized prior to consideration
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
• Former Salem Health employees must wait six months from termination date before being eligible for assignment
• Local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
