Job Description
The 2nd Shift Fabrication Supervisor oversees all fabrication operations on the second shift, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role leads a team of hourly production employees in a precision metal fabrication environment, coordinating workflow across multiple work centers and driving continuous improvement in processes and performance.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate all 2nd shift fabrication operations, including punch, laser, brake press, welding, grinding, assembly, and finishing.
- Ensure daily production schedules are met by effectively managing labor assignments, machine utilization, and workflow sequencing across all work centers.
- Monitor and enforce quality standards at each stage of production, addressing non-conformances promptly before they move further in the process.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of hourly production employees through clear expectations, daily communication, and consistent accountability.
- Conduct pre-shift and mid-shift meetings to communicate priorities, safety topics, and performance feedback to the team.
- Partner with the Fabrication Manager and 1st shift team to ensure seamless shift transitions and continuity of production information.
- Manage attendance, timekeeping, and daily staffing adjustments to maintain required production capacity throughout the shift.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in safety, quality, throughput, and scrap reduction.
- Complete required shift documentation, including production reports, incident reports, and non-conformance records.
- Enforce all safety policies and foster a zero-incident culture on the shift.
- Support manufacturing operations related to structural steel and chassis fabrication as needed.
- Oversee machine operation within the fabrication area to ensure safe and efficient use of equipment.
- Interpret blueprints and production documentation to guide fabrication activities and verify work accuracy.
- Plan and schedule work to align resources, materials, and equipment with production requirements.
- 5 or more years of experience in a precision sheet metal or metal fabrication environment.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or lead role within manufacturing or fabrication.
- Working knowledge of fabrication processes, including press brake, punch/laser, welding, grinding, assembly, and finishing operations.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and hold accountable a team of hourly employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively across shifts, departments, and leadership levels.
- Familiarity with ERP or job tracking systems; experience with JobBoss is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and solve problems under time pressure without unnecessary escalation.
- Consistent and reliable 2nd shift availability throughout the work week.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production documentation.
- Hands-on experience with welding, brake press operation, and general machine operation in a fabrication setting.
- Experience with planning and scheduling production activities.
- Capability to work safely with structural steel, chassis components, and related fabrication materials.
- Ability to safely handle and lift parts, materials, or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds as required by inspection, audit, or operational support activities.
- Ability to stand and walk on the shop floor for extended periods throughout the workday to support inspection, audit, and production activities.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach when conducting work or inspections at production work centers across the facility.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements, including operating measuring instruments and using computer equipment throughout the workday.
- Willingness and capability to move materials, parts, or fixtures using a pallet jack or with the assistance of production personnel as operational needs arise.
- Willingness to assist other team members with quality-related or operational tasks within reasonable physical exertion limits as production needs require.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in completing production, incident, and non-conformance reports.

Work Environment
This role operates in a combination of shop floor and office settings within a precision metal fabrication environment. On the shop floor, you will work around production machinery with moderate noise levels and varying temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required and provided when working in production areas. The position is dedicated to 2nd shift operations and involves regular interaction with fabrication equipment, structural steel and chassis components, and production personnel, while also performing planning, scheduling, and documentation tasks in an office setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Bonham, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
• 7 Paid Holidays (New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day)
• Non-Exempt accrue 40 PTO hours during Year 1 and 80 PTO hours in Year 2.
• Exempt employees accrue 80 PTO hours during Year 1 and 120 PTO hours in Year 2.
• Maximum of 40 hours of PTO can be carried over to the new calendar year.
• Company pays 90% of medical premiums for Employee Only coverage.
• Aetna Dental and Aetna Vision coverage available.
• Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) are fully company paid.
• Company-paid life insurance benefit of $50,000. Voluntary Supplemental Life available.
This is a fully onsite position in Bonham,TX.
