Permanent Substitute Teacher 2026-2027 School Year

Permanent Substitute Teacher 2026-2027 School Year Christian Academy School System – English Station – Louisville, Kentucky (Open in Google Maps) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description The Permanent Substitute Teacher will be the spiritual leader in the classroom by modeling prayer and love toward students in a Christ‑like manner. He/she will effectively plan and execute lessons, with appropriate strategies, for student mastery of content. He/she will recognize that all students learn differently and will implement motivating and engaging learning strategies designed to meet the needs of all learners. This method of teaching will contribute to students’ development as mature, able and responsible Christian men and women to the praise and glory of God. He/she will also manage/monitor student learning in an encouraging classroom environment that allows students to grow in depth of knowledge. The teacher will engage in professional development training and collaborative learning opportunities for growth in professional relationships and growth in his/her craft of teaching. This position requires the ability to travel to all campuses and fill long‑term needs as they become available. Qualifications A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith for the Christian Academy School System Agreement and belief that the Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind Bachelor’s degree required Current state teaching certificate/license preferable Meeting certification guidelines required to obtain and maintain active ACSI teacher certification throughout employment preferable Accountabilities / Responsibilities Intentionally integrates Biblical values and morals Understands and implements the Matthew 18 principle with students, parents, peers and administration in an appropriate manner Assesses students’ spiritual leadership and guides them in spiritual growth Leads students in daily prayer and devotions Models a consistent relationship with Jesus Christ Instructional Planning & Preparation Demonstrates knowledge of content and pedagogy (the art and science of teaching) Designs lessons with clear, focused and measurable instructional objectives Objectives provide for deliberate skill development in the higher‑order thinking processes Plans include the integration of technology to enhance/accelerate learning and mastery of content Instructional Delivery Demonstrates Biblical integration and Christian worldview Establishes learning expectations with well‑defined openings Guides students to apply learning to real‑world applications Implements a variety of strategies to introduce, explain and restate subject matter concepts Selects a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child—spiritual, intellectual, physical, social and emotional Employs a variety of questioning techniques that enhance critical thinking Assessment Intentionally plans pre‑assessments, formative and summative assessments aligned to learning objectives Plans provision for student feedback through self‑assessment Re‑teaching – identifies students in need of additional or different forms of instruction and determines effective instructional modifications Uses assessment data to plan instruction Creates a learning environment promoting positive social interaction, active engagement in learning and self‑motivation; creates an environment of respect and rapport through reinforcement and praise Encourages students to accept God and the gift of salvation and grow in their faith Provides opportunities for students to lead prayer and devotions Provides opportunities for students to develop a Christian mind and lifestyle Manages student behavior: implements classroom rules, routines, and procedures that allow a student to assume his/her own responsibility Organizes physical space: attractive, well‑ordered, conducive to learning and student work displayed Professionalism and Communication Communicates in a positive, clear manner and uses accurate grammar and spelling in written form Represents the school in a favorable and professional manner Maintains timely and accurate student records/grades in PowerSchool and submits weekly lesson plans Communicates with families about students’ progress on a regular basis and responds to family/student concerns in a timely and appropriate manner Maintains teachable spirit and assumes responsibility for actions Maintains confidentiality and supports, listens and views school success as a team effort Professional Development Seeks out opportunities for professional development and participates to enhance content knowledge and pedagogical skill Creates a professional growth plan demonstrating progress in content areas and instructional methods Outcomes Daily Biblical integration in all subject matters Students develop, integrate and own a Christian worldview Christ‑like relationships with students, colleagues, peers, and parents Students engaged in learning and problem solving Content knowledge connects students with real‑world applications Needs of students are addressed with the collaboration of peers/support Clear verbal and written communication with colleagues, parents and administration Visible representation of the schools’ mission statement Ongoing professional development and assessments to improve and enhance knowledge Measurable objectives included in lesson plans Benefits Position Type: Full‑Time 10‑Months Full Benefits #J-18808-Ljbffr Young World Physical Education
