Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in alignment with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
• Conduct 60-minute evaluations and treatments, utilizing clinical reasoning to progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
• Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
• Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
• Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
• Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing and completing all state-mandated continuing education requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in good standing in the state of California
• Outpatient physical therapy experience required — new graduates will not be considered
• Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop functional, goal-oriented treatment programs
• Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and state practice acts
• Ability to maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with applicable state, federal, and payer guidelines

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience participating in or supervising student clinical education programs
• Active involvement in continuing education, professional organizations, or self-directed professional development
• Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality initiatives within a clinical setting
