Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Las Cruces, New Mexico.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: OR - Operating Room\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 40 hours per week\n Shift: 8 hours, evenings\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Evenings, 5x8hrs\n Hours: 40 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 28, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for an evening shift travel assignment requiring a NM or compact RN license and 2+ years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties.Details\n \n Level III Trauma facility Operating Room department\n Circulating nurse role supporting patient safety, documentation, workflow coordination and sterile field support during surgical procedures\n Diverse caseload including General Surgery, Orthopedics, GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry\n 13-week assignment on evening shift, 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Monday-Friday\n Option to work 48 hours per week\n Call requirement split among OR RNs, averaging 7 calls in a 6-week period\n Weekday call from 3pm to 7am, weekend call in 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a)\n No floating required\n EMR systems used: Medhost and PICIS\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required\n BLS certification required\n ACLS certification preferred\n 2+ years of recent OR experience required\n Experience required in General Surgery, Orthopedics, GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry\n No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment\n No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months\n Fingerprints required for all New Mexico travelers\n Additional Information\n \n Responsible for patient assessment, advocacy, and surgical case preparation\n Manages equipment, supplies, documentation, specimen handling, and medication administration\n Coordinates closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and nursing colleagues\n Serves as patient advocate throughout the surgical experience, ensuring sterile technique and adherence to organizational policies\n Hospital-laundered scrubs provided\n Maximum RTO of less than 1 week\n Does not accept local candidates within a 50-mile radius\n Returning travelers not eligible if they worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years\n First-time travelers may be considered\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-755728.
