Job Title: Restaurant Shift Lead

Position Summary

The Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations during assigned shifts, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient team performance, and compliance with company policies. This role acts as the on-duty leader, supporting both front-of-house and back-of-house teams while maintaining smooth operations and a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Operations

• Lead and manage daily shift activities, ensuring smooth and efficient service
• Open and/or close the restaurant following established procedures
• Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or tasks as needed
• Ensure cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards are maintained

Team Leadership

• Supervise, support, and motivate team members during shifts
• Assign duties and ensure employees are performing effectively
• Provide on-the-spot coaching and guidance
• Address employee concerns and escalate issues when necessary

Customer Service

• Deliver and uphold high standards of guest service
• Handle customer concerns or complaints professionally and promptly
• Ensure a welcoming and positive dining experience for all guests

Cash Handling & Compliance

• Manage cash drawers, POS systems, and end-of-shift reconciliations
• Follow all company policies, including safety, labor, and health regulations
• Ensure proper documentation of incidents, voids, and comps

Training & Support

• Assist with onboarding and training new employees
• Reinforce company procedures, service standards, and menu knowledge
• Support ongoing development of team members

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience required
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
• Basic understanding of POS systems and cash handling
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 2550 lbs as needed
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
