About the Position

Job Title: OR RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 5x8 (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: 2 years of OR RN experience License: Active VA license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and CNOR preferred Must-Have: Proficient in all specialties, particularly ortho, breast/plastics, urology, GYN, and general Description: Profession: OR RN proficient in a variety of surgical specialties. Unit: Outpatient Pavilion. Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts from 07:00 to 15:30. No weekends or holidays required. Late stay sign-up for call may be required. Types of cases include General, GYN, Breast/Plastics, Urology, Ortho, and Podiatry. The average daily census is approximately 35 patients. Unit comprises 6 operating rooms. The flu vaccine is mandatory during the flu season, and exemptions are subject to guidelines. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience with electronic charting systems is a plus. Candidates should possess skills related to various surgical procedures, including laparoscopic, orthopedic, and general surgeries. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, phlebotomy, and transportation. This is a smoke and nicotine-free facility. Travelers must maintain minimal requests for time off during the assignment. Expectations include flexibility to work on holidays when necessary. Candidates must have responsiveness to floating as required by facility policies. This position emphasizes teamwork and adaptability in a dynamic surgical environment.
