Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty, with 1 travel contract License: No specific license required to submit Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery - C-section experience required Description: Strict 100-mile radius rule applies. The address on the traveler's driver's license must be at least 100 miles from the facility. All candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in the specialty. A smaller hospital with a Level 2 NICU. 10 LDRP beds and 1 C-section suite on the unit. The unit occasionally uses the OR. There are 4 triage beds available. The average number of births per month is approximately 30-60. The average nursery census must be considered. Nurses are required to follow ACOG guidelines. Certified staff must have BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications. Current FHM system will be used. Charge Nurses take patients, usually postpartum patients, and run the charge nurse for both LDRP and the Nursery. There are 2 LPNs and 2 OR techs available for support. The weekend requirement is every other weekend. Travelers do not take call. Holiday rotations occur with permanent staff. Scrubs are forest green pants, and white tops are required. Hospital scrubs may be provided during procedures. Anesthesia is in-house only if a patient is in labor. The Pharmacist is available on-call if needed. Registered Technicians are available 24/7. Floating to other units is possible if experienced. Common diagnoses include patients 32 weeks or greater with no other maternal risk factors. Some antepartum care is provided for stable patients. Cancellation policy is 12 hours every 2 weeks. The charting system utilized is MEDITECH.
