Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD. Qualifications Education/Certification/Licensure Ability to obtain a valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License with passenger and school bus endorsement within 45 days of date of hire Special Knowledge/Skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Must be 18 years of age Ability to complete required bus driver safety training Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to communicate effectively Knowledge of student discipline procedure Ability to work well with children Possess common sense, patience, tolerance Ability to assist the driver in evacuating students in the event of an accident/emergency Major Responsibilities and Duties Complete all training modules as assigned by Training department. Cover non-driving assignments as needed. Observe driver while on ride-along. Assist drivers with required paperwork to gain practical experience. Assist driver with student discipline. Assist driver in maintaining a clean bus. Review route folder to ensure they are current and complete. Monitor Bus for mechanical defects; notify supervisor and complete work order request for defective equipment as needed. Assist with student counts and all required TEA reports. Document student discipline problems with report to Route Supervisor Monitor Student behavior Pass review of skills coarse administered by training department. Pass DOT Skills test and obtain license Class B with P and S endorsements Exhibit CCISD Core Values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal). Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned. Working Conditions Mental Demands Effective verbal and written communication; concentration while performing duties; ability to maintain emotional control under stress; ability to work with frequent interruptions; maintaining emotional control under stress; working around high noise levels. Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Moderate walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, reaching; heavy lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.; continual sitting, reaching, and repetitive hand and arm motions; work outside and inside; moderate exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes; flexible hours; evacuate students in the event of an accident/emergency. Days in Contract: 45 days or less Hours: 5 +/- hours per day Pay Grade: Aux 2 ($16.00/hr.)
